Training

El.evate offers training in a number of different ways. Our downloadable activities, targets & strategies provide training to families to support communication development. these range from modelling exercises for adults to improve listening in noise and tone detection to setting targets for  and following through at home and in social activities in a functional way.

We offer a range of training packages to class teachers and Teaching Assistants which cover awareness of specific language and communication difficulties, strategies to support these children and specific types of intervention that can be implemented with individual children or used as a whole school approach.

Training Packages for Schools

1/2 a day group training
Training to target group giving strategies and goals to facilitate curricular learning for children with a range of communication and learning difficulties. Tailored for Reception, KS1, or KS2

  • Active Listening
  • Language differentiation.
  • How to make support most effective
  • Pre and post tutoring.

Whole day training session
As above, plus workshops looking at the difficulties of specific children that school are currently working with and arranging learning plan around these specific profiles. Involving the strategies that could be implemented in the class.

5 day training program carried out over a maximum of 2 weeks
As above plus a sample caseload from groups. Plus groups set up. Initial and final sessions run jointly with Teaching Assistants and/or SenCo’s. Discussions on feedback and future planning. Investigating the knowledge regarding language work, building upon programs based on the specific needs of the group. Tailored for Reception, KS1,or KS2

  • To ensure that the professional is able to identify areas of difficulty from a profile and observations. 
  • To identify basic strategies to implement in the classroom, and activities to carry out in class
  • How to run the most useful language & social communication groups
  • Workshops on: Target setting, and Language differentiation.

Termly training program
As above plus 2-3 times a week sessions joint work with targeted children and named school professional. Up to 4 formal assessments with reports and recommendations. 4 annual sessions.Tailored for Reception, KS1, or KS2.

  • Pre and post tutoring.
  • To ensure that the professional is able to identify areas of difficulty from a profile and observations. 
  • To identify basic strategies to implement in the classroom, and activities to carry out in class
  • How to run the most useful language & social communication groups
  • Presentation followed by Workshops on: Updating and adapting groups
  • Assessment results what do they mean.

1/2 termly training program
As above with an additional modelled therapy sessions and strategies and up to 6 formal assessments with reports, recommendations and strategies. 8 training sessions. Tailored for Reception, KS1, or KS2.
